NRA ENDORSES JIM PIWOWARCZYK IN GOP PRIMARY FOR 98TH ASSEMBLY

Town of Erin – The National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund has endorsed small
business owner and former police sergeant Jim Piwowarczyk in the 98th Assembly District race.
The primary is Aug. 13. Piwowarczyk is a Republican candidate who lives in the Town of Erin.
The district spans parts of Washington and Waukesha Counties.

Piwowarczyk received an AQ rating from the NRA-PVF. That’s the highest grade possible
without a legislative or other similar record. Piwowarczyk has never held political office but
served as a law enforcement officer for almost 20 years. His Republican opponent in the primary,
Don Pridemore, who retired from the Legislature in 2015, received a C- rating from the NRA.
The Democrat in the race wasn’t rated.

“The NRA Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is NRA’s political action committee. The NRA-
PVF ranks political candidates – irrespective of party affiliation – based on voting records, public
statements and their responses to an NRA-PVF questionnaire,” NRA-PVF explains on its
website.

“I have had my concealed carry permit since leaving law enforcement,” Piwowarczyk said. “I am
a staunch supporter of the 2nd Amendment and an avid hunter and sportsman. I appreciate the
NRA-PVF’s endorsement.”

According to a June 22, 2011 article in the then West Bend Daily News, Pridemore was the only
Republican to vote “no” when concealed carry was legalized in Wisconsin.

Piwowarczyk is the co-founder of Wisconsin Right Now.com, Wisconsin’s leading conservative
news site. He is also a real estate broker. There is no incumbent in the 98th Assembly race. The
district includes Hartford, Richfield, the Town of Erin, Merton, Sussex, and Lisbon.

Piwowarczyk, 54, has growing momentum in the race; he has also been endorsed by top local
leaders, like Washington and Waukesha County Sheriffs Marty Schulteis and Eric Severson,
County Executive Josh Schoemann, DA Mark Bensen, and the Washington County Deputy
Sheriff’s Association. The latter called him a “staunch supporter of the righteous.”
