Washington County Exec Josh Schoemann Endorses Jim Piwowarczyk for Assembly

Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann, a staunch conservative known for his leadership on fiscal matters, has endorsed Jim Piwowarczyk for Assembly.

Piwowarczyk, 53, the co-editor of Wisconsin Right Now conservative news site, is running for the Assembly District 98, which spans parts of Washington and Waukesha Counties. A small business owner and former law enforcement officer, Piwowarczyk, of the Town of Erin, is running as a Republican.

“I am very excited to endorse Jim for the newly created 98th Assembly District,” Schoemann said. “Jim’s experience in law enforcement – keeping us safe, his work in the real estate world – keeping up the American Dream, as well as his tenacious work with Wisconsin Right Now – keeping us informed, make him an ideal candidate to fight for the people of Washington County in Madison – keeping us free. Join me in supporting Jim in the August primary and the November general election.”

The district includes Hartford, Erin, Richfield, Lisbon, Merton, and Sussex. It has no incumbent.

Schoemann previously wrote about his fiscal achievements as county executive: “In Washington County, we’ve cut our property tax rates to their lowest levels since WWI. We have cut property tax collections five of the last ten years, saving our taxpayers a million dollars in 2022-2023 alone,” he wrote. “In the 2024 budget cycle, we’re on pace to cut another quarter of a million dollars from property tax collections, marking the fifth time we made a reduction in such collections in the last decade.”
